ESC’s head office – where it all started over 35 years ago
The Vancouver office is where it all started back in 1980 with two energy consultants, the ESC founders Raymond Rae and Brian Goodchild. Two office moves later, the Vancouver branch remains the head office of ESC Automation, and has grown to over 300 full-time employees.
Well known for their BMS systems design, DDC installation and wider systems integration ESC Vancouver also offers a range of mechanical equipment, installation and maintenance programs to more fully meet our customers’ needs.
A project portfolio which speaks for itself
ESC Vancouver has 1000s of sites across the lower mainland and is the most established independent controls contractor in BC. You are sure to have enjoyed ESC’s climate controlled environments in many of the 2010 Olympic venues or downtown in the Bental buildings and Vancouver Public Library.
Clients like Surrey school district, Vancouver art gallery, BCIT , VGH, YVR have all been with ESC since the mid-nineties and are still valued customers. Some clients, like BC Place and YVR, have grown with ESC, handling upgrades, expansions and retrofits, as they were required. ESC doesn't like to shout about their exceptional quality of service and prefers to let the longevity and high profile nature of their sites speak for themselves.
The Vancouver branch enjoys handling the most complex and large challenges, including many public private partnership projects like Royal Jubilee Hospital, the Jim Pattison Outpatient Cere and Surgery Centre and the new Fort St. John’s Hospital “The team-oriented nature of P3s dovetail very well with our operating philosophy.” Fred Messmer Director of Canadian Operations
Controlling operating costs and making the day to day simpler to manage.
Maintenance and service is a top priority for ESC clients because automation systems have become so sophisticated and widespread, and because the budgets of maintenance staff in public and private facilities are increasingly strained. ESC’s service contracts help clients control maintenance costs and protect their systems and mechanical investments.
“We train our people thoroughly and, for the construction/installation crews, group them into small teams so clients receive personalized, one on one service,” says Van Spronsen. ESC Vancouver also trains their customers on-site maintenance staff to manage most day to day DDC related tasks, and for the unusual problems there is always the 24/7 help line which can often solve problems remotely, or set up a site visit 365 days a year.
The bottom line is clients want to save energy and money so ESC created a joint venture with Delta Controls and set up CopperTree Analytics. CopperTree combines ESC’s practical understanding of how buildings work best, with Delta Controls Technology and software expertise to provide clients a ‘software as a service’ energy management and building analytics.
CopperTree pulls together secure retrospective and real time data from your building automation system and uses building analytics to provide from one platform:
